NFL To Stream 2 Playoff Games, Super Bowl

Using TV coverage from NBC, the NFL will stream the Super Bowl, NBC's Wild Card Saturday Doubleheader and the 2012 Pro Bowl. The games will also be available via a mobile app from Verizon.

For the first time this season, the Super Bowl and other NBC’s postseason NFL games will be streamed live on NFL.com and NBCSports.com, and will be available via a Verizon mobile app, the NFL announced today.

The live online coverage will come from NBC’s broadcast TV coverage of the games.

Complementing the online stream will be a number of extra features, including additional camera angles, in-game highlights and real-time statistics.

“We are pleased to work with our partners NBC and Verizon to bring our fans more ways to watch their favorite sport during their favorite time of the year,” said Hans Schroeder, NFL SVP of media strategy and development.

“With a heritage of streaming live NFL games since 2008, we are especially excited to now bring our unique and innovative SNF Extra video experience to the NFL Playoffs, Pro Bowl, and Super Bowl,” said Rick Cordella, VP and general manager, NBC Sports Digital Media.

“By adding multiple camera angles, HD-quality video, DVR controls along with social interactivity, our online streaming represents a compelling, second-screen experience that nicely complements NBC’s on-air presentation.”
