Nielsen To Measure Me-TV Network

National ratings measurement of the Weigel-owned classic TV diginet will begin in the spring.

Weigel Broadcasting Co. has reached an agreement for Nielsen to begin national television audience measurement of The Me-TV Network effective spring 2013.

“The ratings for the Me-TV Network that Nielsen shared with us were above our expectations and certainly grabbed our attention,” said Neal Sabin, Weigel Broadcasting Co., president of content and networks. “Now that we are subscribers, we can take our impressive story to advertisers and their agencies. We will now have the credibility of Nielsen’s national measurement service just like the major broadcast and cable networks.”

John Hendricks, EVP sales for Weigel, added: “Based on the results the Me-TV Network has delivered for advertisers, we knew that viewers were finding us and staying with us. But now that our sales team can offer our clients Nielsen national ratings, it will provide validation to national advertisers and agencies that Me-TV delivers and is an exciting new option for their TV campaigns.”

Since the launch of Me-TV in December 2010, Weigel says distribution has grown rapidly, reaching or meeting Nielsen’s policies for reporting as a national TV network. Currently, the Me-TV Network serves 141 affiliates, clears 87% of the country and can be found in 28 of the top 30 markets in the U.S.

Me-TV’s library includes almost 100 series from Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution, CBS Television Distribution, NBCUniversal Television as well as many independent series owners and producers. Me-TV, memorable entertainment television, is owned and operated by Me-TV National Limited Partnership and distributed by MGM Television.
