NPG Names Pimentel GM in Colorado Springs

News-Press Gazette Co. has appointed Mark Pimentel general manager of its Colorado Springs/Pueblo (DMA 87) properties KRDO (ABC), KRDO-AM-FM and KTLO (Telemundo). He succeeds Tim Larson who left in early March.

Pimentel comes to the job with 22 years of experience as a GM including stints in St. Louis and Atlanta. Before he was a GM, he worked in news for 18 years in a variety of jobs, including on-air, producing and news management. He was news director in Baltimore and Atlanta.

Among Pimentel’s awards are two Columbia-duPont Silver Batons, a Silver Medal from the New York Film Festival, 13 regional Emmys, numerous Murrow Awards, and the Silver Circle from NATAS.

Pimentel starts on April 23.
