Panasonic P2 Cam Integrates With LiveU Uplink

A new software upgrade for Panasonic’s P2 cam AG-HPX600 integrates LiveU’s live video uplink technology, delivering the first available integrated live camera solution. As a result, videographers can now start and stop the uplink straight from the camera and monitor the LiveU unit’s status in the camera’s viewfinder.

The AG-SFU603G software upgrade, which can be downloaded from Panasonic’s website free of charge, integrates with LiveU’s LU40 portable uplink solutions with the P2HD series of Panasonic’s new AG-HPX600 HD camera recorder. The expanded functionality can be activated via the software key after installation of the software upgrade.

All new AG-HPX600 will come with the upgrade installed.

The LiveU unit and Panasonic camera are interconnected via the SDI and USB. Live camera video — both SD and HD — can be transmitted through up to six cellular connections.

The LiveU software integration update comes on the heels of Panasonic’s partnership with Aframe, a cloud-based management solution company. Panasonic salespeople will also pitch the new solution with its P2 and AVCCAM cameras.
