PERRY NAMED CLEAR CHANNEL TV PRESIDENT/CEO

Donald D. Perry to succeed William G. Moll, who has held the post since 2001. Moll will continue to serve as chairman, responsible for strategic direction of the division.

Clear Channel Communications promoted Donald D. Perry to succeed William G. Moll as president and chief executive officer of Clear Channel Television. 

Perry has been executive vice president and chief operating officer of the division since May 2005. He has also served as vice president and general manager of WOAI-TV since 1996, and as Southwest regional vice president of Clear Channel Television since 2002. The division’s six regional vice presidents now report to Perry.

“Don is a highly respected broadcast executive,” added Moll. “Don has the leadership, experience and wisdom necessary to lead our television stations.”

“Don’s track record at Clear Channel has been impressive,” said Mark Mays, president and CEO of Clear Channel Communications. “He’s a seasoned executive who is both trusted and well-known for his professionalism and his local, regional and industry contributions.”

Perry is a past chairman of Texas Association of Broadcasters, past chairman of New York State Broadcasters, a former member of the board of directors of the NBC Affiliates Association. His past television station management experience includes stints in Albany, N.Y.; Denver and Nashville in addition to nearly a decade at WOAI-TV San Antonio.

In his new position Perry will report to Mark Mays, president and CEO of Clear Channel Communications.

Clear Channel Television owns and operates 41 television stations. Station affiliations include NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, UPN, WB and Telemundo. Two of the stations are independent and unaffiliated.
