Phil Kirk Named NewsCheckMedia Sales VP

Phil Kirk, a 30-year veteran of television sales and sales management, and NewsCheckMedia’s sales manager, has been promoted to vice president of sales.

In his new role, Kirk will oversee sales for TVNewsCheck.com, NetNewsCheck.com, their companion e-newsletters and alerts and TVNewsCheck’s Executive Outlook, a print quarterly targeted to C-suite executives in the broadcasting industry and allied fields.

Kirk will also oversee sales for NewsCheckMedia webinars and marketing services and for events such as the Women in Technology Leadership and Technology Women to Watch Awards, presented each year at the National Association of Broadcasters convention.

“Phil Kirk has been a constant source of ideas for expanding our sales effort since he joined NewsCheckMedia two years ago,” said Kathy Haley, the company’s co-founder and publisher. “He brings a combination of leadership, team-building and goal-setting skills that will take our sales and marketing effort to the next level.”

Before joining NewsCheckMedia, Kirk was senior vice president of sales and marketing for Blair Television, where he specialized in media sales for broadcast, cable and public TV stations. His clients included Hearst Television, Gannett Co., Scripps Media Inc. and Disney/ABC.

Kirk is passionate about community involvement and serves the Make a Wish Foundation, Long Island Blood Services, John Mackay Knights of Columbus and St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York. He is a graduate of St. John’s University in New York.
