Pro-Connie Mack super PAC launches two-week buy

Freedom PAC, the super PAC supporting Rep. Connie Mack in his Senate run in Florida against incumbent Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson, is going on air for the next two weeks with a spot featuring the Republican hopeful speaking.

It's the first ad of its sort that the group, which has gotten $1 million from casino magnate Sheldon Adelson and $250,000 from Texas homebuilder Bob Perry, has done in the campaign, which has become a closer race than initially anticipated.

The buy is supposed to be in the six figures and in the Tampa and Orlando markets, according to Freedom PAC officials. The group's senior adviser, Rob Cole, said the group believes the message in the ads will be compelling in the final months.
