The organization's annual meeting in Las Vegas for station general managers, marketing and promotion executives will be bookended by affiliate and station group meetings.
PromaxBDA 2nd Station Summit Set For June
PromaxBDA, the global association for marketing, promotion and design professionals, will hold its second annual Station Summit on June 26-29 in Las Vegas and ABC, CBS, CW and NBC will host their comprehensive affiliate marketing meetings in conjunction with the event. Participating station groups hosting their creative and strategic meetings include CBS Television Stations, Gannett, LIN Media, NBC Owned Television Stations, Raycom Media, Scripps, Sinclair and Tribune among others.
The June 2012 summit created for station general managers, marketing and promotion executives follows last year’s inaugural event designed to specifically focus on the issues, trends and needs of local stations and broadcasters.
“We’re ecstatic to once again collaborate with our network, studio and station group partners for the 2012 Station Summit,” said Jonathan Block-Verk, president-CEO of PromaxBDA. “The feedback we have received from the first Summit has been invigorating and we recognize there is value and interest in continuing to share industry insights, research and best practices.
Scot Chastain, SVP, affiliate marketing and development, NBC Television Network and PromaxBDA Station Summit Advisory Council member, said: “The first Station Summit was a tremendous success for us since we seized the opportunity to host our station meetings and the atmosphere at the general sessions and breakouts overall not only helped energize, but also gave everyone there a newfound sense of camaraderie.”
The Station Summit is divided into four focused days. On June 27, the Studio Day is focused on creative and strategic meetings for station general managers and their marketing, promotion and creative services executives with their syndicated programming partners for presentations and discussions on strategies and positioning for new and returning shows. Syndicators and studios slated to participate to date include 20th Television, CBS Television Distribution, Debmar-Mercury, NBCUniversal Television Distribution, Sony Pictures Television, and Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution.
PromaxBDALocal, taking place on June 28, will be a full day of sessions, speakers and presentations about creative innovation, social marketing strategies, technological trends and new market-driven revenue opportunities affecting success in the local media landscape. The focus will be on providing the most relevant, contextual and current information that can be used to affect a station’s business bottom line. The PromaxBDALocal Awards that celebrate excellence, creativity and innovation in local television promotion, marketing and design will also take place at the end of the day on June 28.
The remaining two days, book-ending the event, are slated for the private affiliate and station group meetings.
