Sony Pictures Television today announced that its freshman talk show, The Queen Latifah Show, has been renewed by the CBS Station Group for a second season, locking in the show’s broadcast clearance across 97% of the country through 2015.

“We are proud to have the CBS stations as our partners as we continue to build the Queen Latifah show into a franchise brand,” said John Weiser, president, U.S. Distribution for Sony Pictures Television. “We look forward to building on the success of this year’s No. 1 new talk show by delivering the highest quality program to our stations, advertisers and viewers.”

According to SPT, season to date, The Queen Latifah Show has improved time periods across the major markets vs. the prior year; including New York where it delivered WCBS’s 9 a.m. time period’s best women 25-54 rating in 14 years in November. On that station, Queen Latifah grew 75% over its CBS This Morning lead-in and its Doctors year-ago performance, and also tied as WCBS’s No. 1 program from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
