Gannett promotes the stations’ sales and marketing director to the top spot at the Spokane, Wash., CBS-CW duo.

R.J. Merritt Named GM Of KREM, KSKN
Gannett Co. today appointed R.J. Merritt the president and general manager of KREM (CBS) and KSKN (CW) Spokane, Wash. (DMA 73), effective immediately. He succeeds Jamie Aitken.
Merritt has been working at the stations for the past 15 years, most recently as director of sales and marketing. Merritt has also served as an account executive, local sales manager and digital sales manager.
Under previous ownership, Merritt graduated from Belo’s Broadcast Sales Academy. He also received the Belo Marketing Solutions Synergy Award.
Merritt is a graduate of Eastern Washington University with a B.S. in organizational communications.
