Randy Ingram Named VP-GM of WBTW

Media General moves him from its WRBL Columbus, Ga., to head its Myrtle Beach-Florence, S.C., CBS affiliate, succeeding Michael Caplan.

Media General today appointed Randy Ingram vice president and general manager of WBTW, Media General’s CBS affiliate in Myrtle Beach-Florence, S.C. (DMA 103). Ingram has more than 20 years of sales and management experience in the broadcast industry. He succeeds Michael Caplan who left in August 2011 to become GM of Gannett’s KTHV Little Rock, Ark.

Since 2010, Ingram has been general manager/general sales manager of WRBL, Media General’s CBS affiliate in Columbus, Ga., with responsibility for all management and sales functions, including its associated websites. He joined Media General in 2005 as station manager/general sales manager of WYCW Spartanburg, S.C.

Prior to that, he was national sales manager and regional sales manager for WISH and WNDY in Indianapolis. Before that, he was the station operations manager of WFLD Chicago.

He is a graduate of Western Illinois University, where he majored in television production.
