Raul Rodriguez New Univision San Fran GM

The former Journal Communications executive will now oversee KDTV, KSOL-FM and KBRG-FM in the Bay Area.

Univision Communications has appointed Raul Rodriguez vice president and general manager of Univision’s San Francisco TV and radio operations. Rodriguez will oversee local news, programming, advertising sales, marketing, on-air promotion and community relations for Univision’s KDTV and KSOL-FM and KBRG-FM as well as interactive platforms in the market.

He will report to Luis Patiño, SVP of Univision Television Group, and Peter M. Moore, SVP/Western Regional Manager, Univision Radio.

Before joining Univision, Rodriguez was general manager and vice president of Journal Communications where he managed three TV stations. He was director of Hispanic sales for News-Press & Gazette, where he was responsible for the company’s Hispanic assets, including six TV stations and one radio station, for which he developed marketing and programming.

Rodriguez’ more than 15 years of experience in the broadcast industry also includes serving as general manager of Telemundo’s independent station in Los Angeles and as general sales manager for Telemundo’s San Francisco Bay Area stations.

A graduate of the University of Southern California, Rodriguez holds a bachelor’s of science degree in business administration.
