Raycom Announces VP Promotions

Lec Coble, Jamie Sawyer and Henry Yates receive vice president stripes. They will focus on expanding the station group’s multi-platform content and marketing operations.

Raycom Media today announced several executive changes that it says reflect its evolution from a local broadcast company “into a local multi-platform content and marketing company.”

Lec Coble has been promoted to vice president of broadcast marketing, and Jamie Sawyer has been promoted to vice president of digital marketing. They will work closely with the 62 Raycom Media stations to develop cross-platform marketing strategies to promote and distribute Raycom’s local content across television, desktop, mobile and social platforms.

Coble became corporate director of marketing for Raycom Media in 2012 after spending nine years as the director of marketing for KOLD, Raycom’s CBS affiliate in Tucson, Ariz., as well as providing marketing services for KMSB and KTTU there. Coble has been instrumental in reshaping Raycom’s approach to broadcast marketing, commercial production and local brand awareness.

Sawyer holds an MBA from Wake Forest University and has an extensive career in agency and startup environments. He was hired as Raycom Media’s first director of social media in 2012. He has led the efforts to grow the Raycom Media station and talent Facebook fan base from 800,000 to more than 10 million today. He was recently named Social Media Director of the Year by Facebook News and Media.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

Henry Yates has been promoted to vice president of digital revenue. He will work with the Raycom stations to improve their end-to-end local digital marketing solutions, and work closely with Wayne Freedman, who leads television sales, to create integrated TV/digital campaigns. Since coming to Raycom in 2007, Yates has spearheaded the company’s creation of sales teams in the automotive and health categories, and led the development of an internal local sales training team.
