Scott Dempsey remains GM of the group’s WBTV Charlotte and will now have oversight of WIS Columbia, S.C.; WTOC Savannah, Ga.; and WFXG Augusta, Ga.
Raycom Names Dempsey Regional Group VP
Raycom Media today appointed Scott Dempsey regional group vice president, with oversight of WIS Columbia, S.C.; WTOC Savannah, Ga.; and WFXG Augusta, Ga.
He will also remain as VP and general manager of WBTV, Raycom Media’s CBS affiliate in Charlotte, N.C. Dempsey has led WBTV since 2015.
Prior to that, he was director of sales and then VP-GM of WTOC.
“Scott’s leadership has already had a significant impact in two of our markets. He understands how to succeed in a highly competitive and evolving landscape and is the right leader to make this group even stronger,” said Raycom Media President-CEO Pat LaPlatney.
Dempsey’s broadcasting experience includes director of sales of WFTS Tampa, Fla.; sales manager at WABC New York; and director of sales of ABC National Sales in Detroit.
Dempsey began his broadcasting career in Charlotte, N.C., as an account executive at Blair Television and also was sales manager there for ABC National Television Sales.
