Raycom Names Three New News Directors
Raycom Media today appointed news directors at its stations in Myrtle Beach-Florence, S.C. (DMA 102); Albany, Ga. (DMA 152); and Jonesboro, Ark. (DMA 181).
Ashley Talley is the new news content director of NBC affiliate WMBF Myrtle Beach, S.C. Talley comes to WMBF from WCTI New Bern, N.C., where she was assistant news director.
Talley’s career has included stops at WSOC Charlotte and WWAY Wilmington, N.C. Talley graduated with honors from Brown University and earned a MFA in creative writing form UNC Wilmington.
Bari Soash is the new news content director of NBC affiliate WALB Albany, Ga. Soash joins WALB from WTOL Toledo, Ohio, where she was the assistant news director.
Prior to WTOL, Soash was news producer and assignment desk manager at WBTV Charlotte, N.C. Soash also worked at WLNS Lansing, Mich., as news producer and assignment desk manager. Soash graduated from Eastern Michigan University.
Josh White is the new news content director of ABC affiliate KAIT Jonesboro, Ark. White comes to KAIT from WFIE Evansville, Ind., where he was the assistant news director. This is a homecoming for White as he was born and raised in Blytheville AR, and previously served as the assistant news director at KAIT from 2008 to 2013.

He graduated from Morehead State University in Kentucky and has been in the TV business for 15 years, doing everything from photography to sports anchor.

Help me out. What is a News CONTENT Director? The story uses ‘News Director’ and ‘News CONTENT Director’ interchangeably. Is News CONTENT Director the same as a ND? It smacks of the similarities amongst GM, VP/GM, and Pres/Gm. They all do basically the same thing. Don’t they?
