Raycom, NBC Local Take ‘Just Cause’ Honors

Raycom’s WAFF Huntsville, Ala., and KPLC Lake Charles, La., and NBC Local Media are honored by PromaxBDA for their promotional efforts benefiting charities.

Two Raycom Media TV stations and one station group earned the first PromaxBDA Just Cause Awards that recognize stations for work on behalf of local charitable and community causes.

The winners:

  • Large market — NBC Local Media for Earth Week, Education Week and Green Week.
  • Medium market — Raycom’s WAFF Huntsville-Decatur-Florence, Ala., for Road to Recovery Valley Volunteer-a-Thon. The awards were presented at a luncheon on Thursday during the PromaxBDA Station Summit in Las Vegas.

The Just Cause Awards recognize local media leaders in cause marketing and their broadcasters’ pro-social commitments to their community.  The awards honor the marketing and creative executives producing distinguished work in small, medium and large markets and celebrates their commitment to nonprofit partnerships, pro-social causes and local community action.
