Redskins ‘Monday Night Football’ Back On WJLA

Sinclair Broadcast Group’s ABC affiliate WJLA Washington (DMA 7) reached a multi-year agreement to carry the Washington Redskins’ Monday Night Football games.

In 2016, ABC7 will air two Washington Redskins’ Monday Night Football games — the season opener with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sept. 12 at 7:10 p.m., and the Carolina Panthers contest on Dec. 19 at 8:30 p.m.

The station will also broadcast one-hour pre- and postgame coverage of the Redskins games with WJLA sports anchors Robert Burton, Erin Hawksworth and Scott Abraham.

Monday Night Football featuring the Washington Redskins is marquee programming and we are excited to bring to our viewers,” said WJLA GM Dan Mellon. “These games complement our already robust sports offerings. That growing list of offerings includes: NCAA Football, NFL Playoff, NBA Basketball, DC United Soccer, ASN College and Citi Open coverage.”

WJLA’s two Monday Night Football games will also be simulcast on ESPN.
