Rentrak Expands Contract With National Geographic

Rentrak Corp., a digital media measurement, research and distribution company, on Tuesday said it has expanded contract with National Geographic Channel to provide cross-platform measurement and information.The multiplatform contract includes access to Rentrak’s OnDemand Essentials and TV Essentials and adds access to Digital Download Essentials service.

Digital Download Essentials is a performance reporting and auditing service and processes daily, census-level Internet Video-on-Demand or iVOD and Electronic Sell-Through content on behalf of many major studios and television networks.

National Geographic Channel also subscribes to Rentrak’s OnDemand Essentials and TV Essentials measurement currencies.

Cathy Hetzel, Rentrak’s president and head of advanced media and information, said, “We are pleased to expand our relationship yet again with National Geographic Channel. Utilizing the recognized measurement currency for the on-demand platform in addition to our national TV census-based currency ratings and iVOD/EST information will enable this esteemed network to build viewership and revenue across multiple platforms.”
