Retro TV Adds ‘The Barbara Stanwyck Show’

Luken Communications-owned diginet Retro TV is adding the Emmy Award-winning anthology series The Barbara Stanwyck Show to its lineup.

The series, originally broadcast on NBC from 1960 to 1961, features a variety of standalone tales starring four-time Best Actress Oscar Nominee Barbara Stanwyck. The Barbara Stanwyck Show was Stanwyck’s first jump into television prior to her iconic role as Victoria Barkley in The Big Valley.

Though The Barbara Stanwyck Show only ran for one season, Stanwyck’s performances in it earned her the Emmy Award for Best Actress in 1961. Prominent guest stars included Milton Berle, Lee Marvin, Peter Falk, Jack Nicholson and Dennis Hopper.

Matthew Golden, Luken’s VP of production, said: “Barbara Stanwyck was a Hollywood legend whose inimitable presence lit up screens both big and small. We at Retro TV are thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase her astounding versatility, charm and charisma with The Barbara Stanwyck Show, the perfect platform for Stanwyck’s talents.”

The Barbara Stanwyck Show will debut on Retro TV later this year.
