Richard Doutre’Jones New KTVX-KUCW GM

The veteran station executive takes over Nexstar’s newly acquired ABC-CW duopoly in Salt Lake City.

Nexstar Broadcasting Group) announced Monday that Richard Doutre’Jones has been appointed VP-general manager of KTVX (ABC) and KUCW (CW) Salt Lake City (DMA 33). He succeeds Matt Jaquint who left the stations in December following their takeover by Nexstar.

Doutre’Jones will have overall responsibility of the stations and their e-media operations including news production, sales and community relations. His appointment is effective immediately and he will report to Brian Jones, co-COO of Nexstar Broadcasting.

Doutre’Jones’ broadcasting career has extended across all facets of the industry including local and national sales, station operations, programming, and management positions. In 1983, he began his 18-year tenure at KBHK (currently KBCW) San Francisco as a national and local sales manager. He was promoted to general sales manager and then station manager of KBHK.

In 2001, he was brought to San Diego where he was tasked with creating a Joint Market Partnership Agreement that would combine Grupo Televisa-owned XETV and Entravision Communications-owned XHUPN into Bay City Television Inc.

Most recently, Mr. Doutre’Jones was the VP of Jones Broadcast Group while also operating RDJ Global, both firms provide consulting and M&A advisory services to broadcast, media, and technology companies as well as financial institutions.

Doutre’Jones earned his B.A. in communications from Brigham Young University. He also completed a graduate school internship at Colombia University.
