Rick Humphrey Named GM Of WGTA Atlanta

The former GM of WPGA Macon, Ga., comes on board as Marquee Broadcasting’s Atlanta outlet adds MeTV as its primary affiliation.

Marquee Broadcasting has chosen Rick Humphrey to be the first full-time general manager of its WGTA Atlanta (DMA 10) effective March 1 as the station prepares to add MeTV to its channel lineup.

“We are pleased that we have attracted a broadcaster of the experience of Rick Humphrey to grow our station in the Atlanta market,” stated Marquee President Patricia Lane.  “Now that we will soon become the MeTV affiliate in Atlanta, Mr. Humphrey is the perfect person to lead our team in Northeast Georgia.”

Humphrey has more than 30 years of experience in both radio and television. His most recent position was GM of WPGA Macon, Ga., and he is a past chairman of the Georgia Association of Broadcasters.

WGTA has been an affiliate of the Heroes & Icons, Decades and Movies! networks owned by Weigel Broadcasting and will add MeTV as its primary channel on March 27.

“I look forward to working with Marquee in making WGTA the No. 1 destination for classic family television. The addition of MeTV to its lineup with Heroes & Icons will offer great programming for every member of the family,” Humphrey said.
