Rita Garcia Named Co-Anchor Of KRIV’s A.M. News

Fox-owned KRIV Houston (DMA 10) today named Rita Garcia co-anchor of its Fox 26 Morning News effective immediately. Garcia will co-anchor the weekday morning news program from 4-7 a.m. and will continue reporting weekdays.

Most recently, Garcia was KRIV’s weekend anchor/reporter. Previously, Garcia was a freelance reporter at KCBS-KCAL Los Angeles. Prior to that, she served as Cameron County bureau reporter at KRGV Harlingen-Weslaco-Brownsville-McAllen, Texas.

Garcia holds a Bachelor of Arts in mass communications and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Texas State University-San Marcos. She began her career as a news intern for KXAN News and KTBC in Austin.
