RTV Adds KIVI Boise To Affiliate Lineup

Journal Broadcast Group’s ABC affiliate KIVI Boise, Idaho (DMA 112), began offering Retro Television’s programming lineup of classic TV shows on ch. 6.3 in October.

“We are very happy to be able to bring RTV to our viewers,” says Marie McGlynn, KIVI VP-GM. “It’s a family-friendly network that marries well with our other television properties.”

Journal owns three TV stations and four radio stations in Idaho: KIVI, KSAW-LP Twin Falls, KNIN Boise (CW), KJOT-FM, KQXR-FM, KTHI-FM and KRVB-FM.

RTV, launched in 2005, was one of the first digital broadcast networks.  Today,  RTV, a subsidiary of Luken Communications, LLC, is a sister network to My Family Television, TUFF TV, PBJ, The Nashville Network, My Car TV and Frost Great Outdoors.  Luken Communications offers diverse, family friendly programming on its networks reaching approximately 80 percent of all U.S. households via a blend of over-the-air, cable and satellite television.

KNIN is a Fox affiliate, it lost The CW affiliation to KYUU-LP/KBOI-DT2 (which used to be Boise’s RTV affiliate) back in August, when KTRV lost the Fox affiliation and went independent. It also should be noted that KSAW is a repeater of KIVI.
