Saga 4Q TV Rev Up 15%, Year Up 13%

The company's four full-power and four low-power stations account for $4.9 million, up from $4.1 a year ago. For the year, TV revenue is up to $18.5 million.

Saga Communications Inc. on Tuesday reported results for the quarter and year ended Dec. 31, 2012, that included a 15.3% increase in 4Q television net operating revenue to $4,958,000 from $4,142,000 in the same quarter a year earlier. Full-year TV net revenue rose 13.2% to $18.5 million.

Fourth quarter operating income from continuing operations for the TV stations was $1.7 million, a 34.6% increase from $1.3 million in 4Q 2011. Full-year TV operating income rose 36.6% to $6.2 million.

Saga owns or operates broadcast properties in 25 markets, including four full-power television stations and four low-power TV stations; 61 FM and 30 AM radio stations; three state radio networks; and two farm radio networks.

The company as a whole reported a 10.2% increase in 4Q net operating revenue to $35.5 million, while full-year net operating revenue rose 4% to $130.3 million.
