Scott Flannigan To Join WALA As News Dir.
LIN-owned Fox affiliate WALA Mobile, Ala. (DMA 59), on Monday announced the hiring of Scott Flannigan as news director, effective March 10. He is replacing Bob Cashen who left WALA in October.
Flannigan comes to WALA from WCBD Charleston, S.C., where he was director of digital journalism.
At WCBD, Flannigan led the station’s news, production and marketing departments. He also served on the board of directors of the Radio Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas.
Prior to WCBD, Flannigan was news director of KPLC Lake Charles, La. He also held news management and producing positions in Florida and Alabama markets. Flannigan is a graduate of Auburn University. His first day at WALA WALA will be March 10.
