Scott Smith Named Sports Director At WTVT

Fox-owned WTVT Tampa (DMA 11) today appointed Scott Smith sports director. Effective March 2 he will contribute to the weekday 5, 6, 10, and 11 p.m. newscasts. Smith will also anchor Tailgate Sunday during football season.

Most recently, Smith was a sports anchor for WTTG Washington. Prior to that, he was sports anchor and reporter at KPHO Phoenix and previously, KOTV Tulsa, Okla.

Smith began his career in the Bay Area, simultaneously working as a reporter for Cal-Hi Sports Bay Area, as a radio DJ at KRTY-FM, and in production at KNTV.

A graduate of Harding University in Searcy, Ark., Smith has a Bachelor of Arts degree in mass communications and electronic communications.
