Scott Thomas Named VP-GM Of KFVS-WQWQ

Scott Thomas is the new vice president and general manager of KFVS and WQWQ, Raycom Media’s CBS and CW affiliates, respectively, in Cape Girardeau, Mo. (DMA 83).

Thomas has been director of sales for the stations since March of 2015; he replaces Dave Thomason who has moved to Raycom’s WAFF Huntsville, Ala., as VP-GM.

“We did a comprehensive nationwide search to find the right person to fill this important position,” said Nick Simonette, Raycom group vice president. “As it turned out, the right person was already here and running this fine TV station. Scott brings a wealth of experience and success to this job. He is a proven leader.”

Thomas has extensive experience in television broadcasting. He has previously been GM at KWES Midland, Texas; the general sales manager at KALB Alexandria, La.; GM of KTAL Shreveport, La.; and national sales manager at KOLR Springfield, Mo.

Thomas earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism, with a minor in radio and television management from the University of Houston.
