Shine TV Announce New Leadership

Tanya Shaw and Tim Whitwell today were promoted to managing director and creative director roles respectively at Shine TV.

Shaw, currently creative director, and Whitwell, currently head of programming at the company, commence their new positions in the New Year. The moves follow the decision by Kelly Webb-Lamb to leave at the end of 2015 as announced last month.

Shaw joined Shine TV as Creative Director in 2014 from the role of commissioning editor, factual features and formats at the BBC. At Shine TV, Shaw has overseen a number of successful series including the recent All Change at Longleat for BBC1, daytime hit Council House Crackdown (also for BBC1) and The Force: Manchester for Sky1.

Double BAFTA winner Whitwell was appointed head of programs for Shine TV in 2012 joining from Optomen TV where he was previously editor, documentaries and features. Most recently, Whitwell played a key role in the development and execution of The Island with Bear Grylls and the recently re-commissioned Hunted for Channel 4. Whitwell has also won two RTS awards for Heston’s Feasts and The Island.
