Sinclair Sets D.C. Town Hall Meeting On Terror

Sinclair Broadcast Group’s ABC affiliate WJLA Washington (DMA 8), in conjunction with co-owned cable channel NewsChannel 8, will hold a live town hall meeting on Thursday, Oct. 16 entitled Your Voice, Your Future: The New Terror Threat.

The hour-long event will be televised on News Channel 8. It will begin at 8 p.m. In addition, it will be televised or live streamed by all Sinclair Broadcast Group stations throughout the country.

The town hall will address new terror threats. It will include an expert panel and live audience for an all-sides, interactive discussion of the current terror threat, U.S. military action, D.C. politics, homeland security, Middle East tensions and ISIL.

“The town hall is an important part of the station’s community outreach strategy” says WJLA Director of News Mitch Jacob.  “Our goal is to inform the public and to engage viewers in conversations on topics that impact this legion and their lives.”

WJLA anchor Leon Harris with moderate the panel and Alison Starling will host. Senior Political Reporter Scott Thuman will also be monitoring social media throughout the hour-long discussion.

The event will be held at the Artisphere Theater (1101 Wilson Blvd. Rosslyn, VA 22209). Viewers can sign up to attend at wjla.com.
