Sinclair Taps Marketron To Boost Mobile Rev

Sinclair Broadcast Group has signed a multi-year deal with Marketron for its Mediascape location-based advertising solution for mobile platforms at its television stations. Sixty Sinclair stations have begun using the service and all 164 are expected to do so by year-end.

Marketron shows consumers mobile ads based on their location and past behavior.

“Marketron’s location-based ad platform provides the accuracy, scale, functionality and support required for our stations to deliver mobile campaigns locally,” said Rob Weisbord, Sinclair’s COO of digital solutions. “Our advertisers will be able to timely share their message with the appropriate consumer in a geo-targeted manner, based on the places they visit every day.”
