SintecMedia Buys Mgt. Software Supplier StorerTV

With a goal of expanding its presence in the U.S. and breaking into smaller markets, SintecMedia has acquired StorerTV, a supplier of media program and contract rights management software.

SintecMedia provides broadcast management systems for major cable and broadcast networks, including ABC Network, CBC and Televisa. StorerTV provides its flagship SIMS — Storer Information Management System — program to TV Globo, Tribune, and CBS Owned and Operated Stations. Both groups also have a mutual client in NBC Universal.

Terms of the deal, which will integrate StorerTV’s SIMS platform and SintecMedia’s OnAir broadcast management program, weren’t disclosed.

OnAir manages all sales and traffic, allowing broadcasters to streamline their operations and increase revenue. SIMS manages the placement of programs on linear and non-linear transmission logs, in addition to managing contracts and amortization, and producing the resulting financial records.

“This is an opportunity for SintecMedia to take a company with a great reputation and experienced people and add to their operation,” says Jay Batista, EVP of software solutions, sales, of what will now be called SintecMedia Inc.

SintecMedia CEO Amotz Yarden said in a statement that the acquisition makes SintecMedia “one of the most powerful vendors in the global media business solution’s market.”

BRAND CONNECTIONS

StorerTV will remain at its Milwaukee headquarters. SintecMedia has U.S. offices in Denver and New York.
