Liberal PBS? Meet the liberal Obama Administration and its spectrum policies. They’re a real b**ch, aren’t they? And, so far, we’ve seen little interest from either the administration or the FCC in cutting PBS any preferential slack simply because they’re liberal (and PBS has definitely begged for it). College admins are already working up budgets and factoring in all that nice post-auction cash as they make plans to give their stations and PBS the big heave-ho (and just in time as the last episode of Downton Abbey is scheduled to air). They may snub us now, but at the end of the day, when the blood and guts of this horrible auction is cleared away, PBS is going to have to deal with LPTV stations and independently-owned translators at some level if they want to remain as a free over-the-air broadcasting network. We will be here.
