Stefan Hadl Named WCVB Engineering Dir.

The longtime Hearst tech executive, and veteran of the United States Air Force, will head broadcast engineering and operations at Hearst Television’s Boston ABC affiliate.

Stefan Hadl has been named director of engineering for Hearst Television’s ABC affiliate WCVB Boston’s (DMA 7), effective June 29. Hadl replaces Dave Kaylor, who has been promoted to the newly-created corporate position of director of veteran recruiting for Hearst Television.

Before KCRA-KQCA, Hadl served for three-and-a-half years as director of engineering for Hearst Television’s WMUR Manchester, N.H.  Before WMUR, Hadl was assistant chief engineer for KCRA-KQCA, having been promoted from engineering supervisor, and he began his career at Hearst Television at KCRA-KQCA in 1995 as a broadcast engineer.

Hadl launched his career in broadcast engineering and technical operations over the course of eight years of service in the United States Air Force.  Hadl was discharged from the Air Force as a Television Equipment Specialist NCOIC (7 Level) at Los Angeles AFB, Calif., and holds an AS degree in electronic systems technology.
