Stephen Arnold Music Creates Theme For ‘OutFront’

Stephen Arnold Music has composed a musical theme for Erin Burnett OutFront, CNN’s newest offering. The weeknight news show airs at 7 p.m. ET.

The composition is another in a long series created by Stephen Arnold Music for CNN and its associated cable outlets, including CNN Headline News and CNN International.

The main theme is built around a five-note signature and incorporates bold, rhythmic guitars, driving bass and punchy drums. The package includes several variations arranged to work in a variety of situations, including a more somber version. All incorporate the five-note melody.

“The producers of OutFront asked for music that would set the show apart, something different from the traditional orchestral themes normally associated with television news,” says Chad Cook, vice president Creative Services at Stephen Arnold Music. “They wanted a more indie sound that connects with today’s viewers without sounding contrived or over produced. That’s the kind of challenge we relish at Stephen Arnold Music.”
