Steve Harvey gets Obama interview

Steve Harvey, the comedian, actor and daytime television personality, will air a one-on-one interview with President Barack Obama on Dec. 20, his press representative announced on Friday.

In the one-on-one interview, which took place at The White House, Harvey talked to Obama about "family, fatherhood and his plans for the holidays." The interview will air on "Steve Harvey," the daytime talk show distributed by NBCUniversal.

“Sitting down with the President is something I’ve always dreamt of doing, and I am honored to have the opportunity,” Harvey said in a statement. “I’m grateful to President Obama for welcoming me and I’m thrilled to share this experience with all my viewers.”

Obama's last televised interview, with MSNBC's Chris Matthews, took place earlier this month.
