Steve South New GSM Of WLNS Lansing
Young Broadcasting today named veteran broadcast sales manager Steve South the general sales manager of its CBS affiliate WLNS Lansing, Mich. (DMA 115). South will start in the role immediately, reporting to WLNS VP-GM Robert Simone.
South comes to WLNS after serving as chief operating officer for the 90-station Bott Radio Network. Previously, he was VP- station manager of three Chronicle Broadcasting-owned ABC affiliates in Wichita, Kan.: KAKE, KUPK and KLBY.
He also was general sales manager of KTNV Las Vegas, as well as at KAKE. On the digital side, South was a regional director for Internet Broadcasting Systems in its launch phase.
In addition, South served as president of the Wichita Broadcasters Association.
