Strong Debut For A Returning Arsenio Hall

His CTD syndicated talker was Monday’s top-rated latenight broadcast program in adults 18-49 and 25-54. In households, Arsenio clocked a 1.9/4, which was up 90% from its year-ago time period averages.

A big story this week in syndication is that Arsenio Hall’s new CBS Television Distribution talk show bowed Monday, Sept. 9, as the top-rated latenight broadcast program among the key demographics of adults 18-49 and 25-54 years old.

Arsenio scored a 1.0/4 (A18-49) and a 1.2/5 (A25-54) in the demos in Nielsen’s Local People Meter Markets, beating every other latenight program on broadcast television.

In households, Arsenio clocked a 1.9/4, which was up 90% from its year-ago time period averages (1.0/2 in Sept. 2012).

While latenight shows almost always decline from their lead-ins (due to declining HUT levels as people go to bed), Arsenio actually shot up 19% over its lead-ins, going from a 1.6/3 to a 1.9/4. In New York, Arsenio jumped 60% over its lead-in, and in Los Angeles it surged 88% and was the No. 1 show in its time period with a 3.2/9 household rating/share.
