Susan Malfa To Head Sales At Katz Diginets

The veteran cable net sales executive will oversee sales at Bounce, Escape, Grit and Laff.

Susan Malfa today was appointed EVP of advertising sales for multicast networks Bounce, Escape, Grit and Laff, overseeing all ad sales efforts.  

Malfa will be based in New York and report to Jonathan Katz, Bounce COO and Katz Broadcasting CEO.

“Bounce, Escape, Grit and Laff are all enjoying explosive viewership growth and Susan’s strategic approach to selling targeted demographic audiences and creating unique marketing solutions for advertising partners makes her a perfect fit at a perfect time,” Katz said.

A television industry veteran, Malfa was a senior sales leader at NBCUniversal for eight years. As SVP, she ran advertising sales for Bravo, Oxygen, Style and Sprout Media. Malfa spearheaded and led Women@NBCU, a sales and marketing initiative designed to help advertisers reach women across the entire NBCUniversal portfolio.

Prior to joining NBCU, Malfa was SVP of ad sales at Court TV, where she directed and managed national ad sales and generated innovative marketing initiatives. She spent 10 years at Viacom’s Comedy Central in ascending sales positions, eventually overseeing the network’s east coast national ad sales operations. 

Malfa recently was EVP of sales and marketing for Estrella TV, where she developed sales strategies and marketplace positioning for the popular Hispanic broadcast network. Earlier in her career, Malfa helped launch and land charter sales agreements for both the Food Network and the Travel Channel.


Malfa holds a graduate certificate in strategy and leadership from NYU and an undergraduate BA from Queens College.

Escape, Grit and Laff are owned and operated by Katz Broadcasting.
