WEEKLY SYNDICATION RATINGS ROUNDUP

Talkers Thrive While Most Syndies Flat

There weren’t a lot of week-to-week gains outside of the chat shows in the frame ending April 14. The gainers included three entertainment magazines, OMG Insider, Dish Nation and TMZ, as well as a few off-net sitcoms and weekly hours.

Most of the top-tier talkers continued to improve despite warmer weather across much of the country pushing PUT levels sharply lower in the week ending April 14.

Dr. Phil easily topped the field for the 26th time out of 30 weeks with a 4% increase in households, and was also No. 1 among women 25-54.

Ellen grew for the third straight week; Maury had its strongest showing since the week of March 18; while Rachael Ray cooked up its best ratings in five weeks.

In rookie action, Steve Harvey jumped 11% among women 25-54 and pulled ahead of usual front-runner Katie in the key demo, although Katie maintained its lead over Harvey in total households.

In access, most strips were flat to down due, in large part, to the dramatic, and very highly rated, NCAA Men’s Championship basketball game, although the new OMG Insider and Dish Nation had the largest increases of any magazine shows, surging 8% and 10%, respectively, from the week before (with Dish Nation matching its season best), while TMZ clocked its highest numbers since the week of March 11.

In the household rating rankings that follow, * indicates a new season high rating; ** indicates a new season low; % change is from the previous week; NC indicates no change from the previous week.
