Telemundo Launches Immigration Info Site

Participar es Progresar debuted concurrently with an exclusive broadcast of a Town Hall with President Obama on Feb. 25 on Telemundo and MSNBC.

Telemundo on Wednesday, Feb. 25, announced the launch of its new digital immigration website, Participar es Progresar (Participation is Progress), available in Spanish and English at www.ParticiparesProgresar.com. The website provides the latest news and information on immigration, civic engagement, voter registration, local community events and top stories on immigration produced by Noticias Telemundo.

“Immigration is central to the growth and identity of the Hispanic community,” said Raquel Egusquiza, VP, community affairs, Hispanic enterprises and content. “With the Participar es Progresar  initiative, we are committed to educating Hispanics about the latest news on immigration and provide resources and tools to help them make informed decisions.”

Users are able to learn what immigration means to their families, understand President Obama’s immigration executive order, and check the resources available to help them and understand what they may have to do, including links to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the League of United Latin American Citizens and The White House immigration website.

Wednesday, at an exclusive town hall with President Barack Obama, Telemundo and MSNBC’s José Díaz-Balart interviewed the president about his recently announced executive actions on immigration and their impact on families and communities, and will host this one-hour special in Spanish and English on both networks.
