Telepictures Ups McGuire To Current EVP

The current SVP, programming and development, David McGuire, becomes EVP of current programming overseeing Ellen DeGeneres,  TMZ, Judge Mathis, The People’s Court and Let's Ask America.

David McGuire, SVP of programming and development at Telepictures Productions has been promoted to EVP, current programming. He will continue to report to Hilary Estey McLoughlin, president, Telepictures Productions.

In his new position, McGuire will continue to oversee all aspects of Telepictures current programming activities for its slate of shows including The Ellen DeGeneres Show, TMZ, Judge Mathis and The People’s Court and in addition, Let’s Ask America, a new interactive game show premiering on Scripps stations this fall.

In addition, McGuire will continue to manage the creative execution of advertising integrations into Telepictures’ portfolio of shows. He will also focus on creating brand extensions and working with the Telepictures development team to identify and platform talent and formats on their current franchises while seeking out rating, marketing and revenue generating opportunities for Telepictures’ brands.

McGuire oversees The Ellen DeGeneres Show and its franchises for the studio. He also played a crucial role in the nesting of Bethenny on Ellen and oversaw the six-week summer 2012 test on a daily basis, which aired on select Fox O&Os.

A 22-year veteran of Telepictures, McGuire has been SVP, programming and development, since May 2007. Prior to that, he was VP of programming and development, since May 2003 after transitioning from his role in production at Jenny Jones.
