The Country Network Returns On-Air, Online

The Country Network, a  music network established in 2010, has been purchased from ZUUS Media by a Texas-based corporation, TCN Country LLC, and has relaunched under its original branding.

Driven and supported through traditional advertisement revenue, TCN will have a global reach via www.tcncountry.com and is currently broadcasting in 34 markets with over 40 million DMA households across digital subchannel tiers.

TCN said its growth expansion strategy is to reach 100 million DMA households within the next three years. For a complete list of broadcast affiliates and channels, please visit www.tcncountry.com.

Unlike many of its country music network predecessors, TCN will not only focus on mainstream country, but will also spotlight Americana, Texas and Red Dirt music genres from both label and independent artists.

”One of the goals of The Country Network will be to provide an unparalleled opportunity for exposure for all great country artists, including independents,” said Tim Eaton, president-CEO. “With this in mind, we will renew fan-favorite shows, such as the On the Rise and Live from The Couch series and produce new shows to highlight and introduce the wide array of amazing artists in today’s marketplace.”

With an office in Nashville and a 43,000 square-foot recording/production facility with three sound studios located in Fort Worth, Texas, artists will have two waypoints to connect with the network’s viewers.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

“We want all artists to feel at home as equally in Texas as they have throughout the years in Tennessee,” said Cary Rolfe, VP of programming and artist relations.” Artists can sit down in either location and tape an interview or performance. In Texas, they can grab a shower or even record a music video or album. That’s the kind of service that is second to none and we look forward to providing.”

Our Land: The Music Highway is the first of many original shows introduced by the network. Hosted by longstanding country music singer/songwriter Shawna Russell, Tim Russell and The Russell Family Band, the series takes viewers on a musical journey across the heartland, with behind-the-scenes stories, candid moments and unique live performances. Guests of the show have included Grammy-nominated Americana artist John Fullbright, Melissa Hembree, Deryl Dodd and Clay Shelburn.

If ZUUS had done ANY of this at all rather than throw a bunch of non-vital videos onto a server and calling it a day, they might’ve kept the Sinclair coverage that the LLC now has to hustle to get back.

I’d like to congratulate the management team at The Country Network for having the vision and business acumen to acquire TCN. Emerging country music artists all over America now have a REAL outlet to showcase their talent. The winners are lovers of country music, the country music artists and the country music producers and management who have waited for a national platform like this. Myself a huge country music fan I look forward to the creative and unique programming that is to follow on-air and online.
