Three New Shows Debut In Syndication

FABLife from Disney-ABC, Crime Watch Daily from Warner Bros. and Crazy Talk from NBCU, receive their first Nielsen scores.

Nielsen overnight ratings released today for three new nationally syndicated strips that bowed Monday, Sept. 14, show promise.

FABLife is a new lifestyle talk show from Disney-ABC Television Distribution featuring Tyra Banks. On its premiere, FABLife averaged a 1.1 rating/3 share in 53 metered markets. Its strongest markets were Chicago, where it posted a first place 2.4/8 on WLS at 1 p.m., and Philadelphia, where it also notched a first place 2.4/8 on WPVI at 2 p.m.

In addition, FABLife took its year-ago time periods up 43% in Los Angeles, up 60% in Chicago and up 75% in San Francisco. Its best top market performance among women 25-54 was a first-place 1.1/7 in No. 1 market New York, where it increased WABC’s year-ago time period demo rating by 38%.

Crime Watch Daily from Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution is the first hour-long, real-life, daily crime show to air in first-run syndication. The strip clocked a 0.9/2 primary run average in 53 metered markets for its premiere. This was 350% higher than the first-week average for a second new syndicated crime show, Corrupt Crimes, (0.2/1) which premiered last week on Sept. 7 in 35 metered markets.

Crime Watch Daily scored its best top market improvement in Los Angeles, where it grew KTLA’s 5 p.m. year-ago time period by 67% with a 1.0/2. Its biggest rating was a 3.2/10, in Kansas City, on WDAF at 1 p.m.

Crazy Talk is a new comedic strip from NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution that highlights the wacky moments on talk and reality shows. In its first outing, the show averaged a 0.3/1 in 53 metered markets.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

It’s best top 25 market performance was in Raleigh-Durham, N.C., where it averaged a 1.2/3 and doubled the year-ago time period rating on WLFL at midnight.

Wow, what a bunch of tortured jargon you parroted from the syndicators to make three bombs look like hits.

Is it just me or does it seem like a weird (and probably unlikely) coincidence all three shows (from three different distributors) debuted in EXACTLY 53 markets each?!

In my market, both FABLife and Crime Watch Daily air at 3 PM, while I’m watching season ?? of The People’s Court. Crazy Talk seems like a reboot of the old Talk Soup and is on at 6:30 PM while I’m watching the CBS Evening News.
