Time Warner Cable News Adds LaMonica Peters

Time Warner Cable News in Buffalo, N.Y. (DMA 52) has hired LaMonica Peters as a reporter/video journalist. She joins the cable channel from WCBI Columbus, Miss.

Her career began at WXVT Greenville, Miss., where she was the weekend anchor and reporter.

Prior to that, she was a producer and segment host with the Hutchinson Report in Los Angeles, a national radio program hosted by MSNBC political analyst and author Earl Ofari Hutchinson. She also worked as a production assistant at KJLH-FM Los Angeles. 

Her teaching experience includes Mississippi State University and Mississippi Valley State University, where she taught in the Communications Departments in 2012 and 2013.   

LaMonica has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from UCLA and was chosen as a Knight Digital Media Center Fellow by the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism in 2011. In addition, she earned a Master of Arts degree in theatre arts from California State University, Los Angeles.
