Tina Commodore Named KOKI News Director

She joins Cox’s Tulsa, Okla., Fox affiliate from co-owned WSB Atlanta where she was managing editor.

 

Cox-owned Fox affiliate KOKI Tulsa, Okla. (DMA 58) has appointed Tina Commodore news director.

Commodore joins the station from WSB Atlanta where she was managing editor helping lead the daily operation of the newsroom.

Prior to serving as managing editor, Commodore was manager of coverage and content, supervising the assignment desk and launching the station’s first major collaborative initiative with the Atlanta Journal Constitution and WSB-AM. In this role, she planned the station’s coverage of President Obama’s inauguration, the Boston Marathon bombing, and the deadly tornado that struck Moore, OK.  

Commodore has an extensive background in news broadcasting. Prior to joining the Cox Media Group in Atlanta, she served as the assignment manager for WBNS Columbus, Ohio, before moving on to Cincinnati to become the assignment manager at WLWT.

Her experience also includes working as a video journalist and tape feed coordinator for CNN in Atlanta.

Commodore is an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
