DMA 12: PHOENIX

Traci Scott Wilkinson Named GM Of KASW

The former KSAZ-KUTP Phoenix sales executive is moving across town to run Nexstar’s CW affiliate.

Nexstar Broadcasting Group today named Traci Scott Wilkinson vice president and general manager of its CW affiliate KASW Phoenix (DMA 12) and associated digital services, including community web portal YourPHX.com. She succeeds Denise McManus who left the station in August.

She will assume her new responsibilities immediately and report to Brian Jones, EVP and Co-COO of Nexstar Broadcasting.

A TV executive with more than 18 years of combined local broadcasting and sales management experience, Traci Scott Wilkinson most recently was the local sales manager of KSAZ-KUTP Phoenix. Her new role at Nexstar marks her return to KASW, where she previously was director of sales for both the CW affiliate and independent KTVK from 2009 to 2014.

Earlier in her career, Wilkinson was general sales manager of Entercom’s KHTP-FM Seattle from 2004 to 2009. Prior to that, she worked at Belo Corp. for six years in Seattle where she ascended from her original role as an account executive at KONG to the stations’ local sales manager. She was later promoted to director of local sales at NWCN-TV, Belo’s Seattle-based cable channel.

Wilkinson earned a Bachelor of Arts in business from Pierce College in Tacoma, Wash.

She has her work cut out for her. Cut the low-rated local productions that were the previous GM’s initiatives.
