Tribune Adds Oversight Of WDCW To Giannini

Vince Giannini, the former VP-GM of Tribune’s WPHL Philadelphia, is promoted to SVP-GM and also adds responsibility for the group’s WDCW Washington.

Tribune Broadcasting today announced Vince Giannini will expand his role within the company. Effective immediately, Giannini who was VP-GM of Tribune’s MNT affiliate WPHL Philadelphia will be elevated to SVP/GM and will add oversight of WDCW, Tribune Media’s CW affiliate in Washington (DMA 8) to his responsibilities.

In his new role, Giannini will continue to oversee all aspects of WPHL, a position he has held since 2003, and formally add oversight of WDCW, where he had been acting GM since August.

Giannini has spent most of his career with Tribune. Prior to his position at WPHL, Giannini served as station manager at Tribune’s WPIX New York from August 2001 to November 2003. His responsibilities included finance, engineering, community affairs and local production. Giannini also worked at Tribune’s KTLA Los Angeles where he was director/finance and administration from 1993 to 2001. Prior to that, he was senior financial analyst for WGN Chicago, from 1990 to 1993.

A native of Chicago, Giannini holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois and is a Certified Public Accountant.
