Tribune Names Toni Falvo Research SVP

The former research exec at WMAQ Chicago will head all research activities for the Tribune Broadcasting group, based in Chicago.

Tribune Broadcasting today announced the appointment of Toni Falvo as SVP of research. Falvo will oversee all research functions for Tribune Co.’s broadcast stations. She will begin her new duties, based in Chicago, on Dec. 9 and report to Larry Wert, Tribune’s president of broadcast media.

Falvo comes to Tribune from WMAQ, the NBC O&O in Chicago, where she has been VP of research, programming and press. She joined WMAQin 1998 as research director.

She began her broadcast television career at WLS-TV, ABC’s Chicago O&O, and held positions in finance and research, eventually becoming research director.

Falvo is active in the television research community.   

“As Tribune’s growing portfolio of assets provides us with a variety of new opportunities to better analyze and understand the audiences watching our stations, I am confident Toni has the talent, experience and drive required to make a significant impact on our goals,” Wert said.
