She is also the first woman ever to serve as president of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers.

“It would be difficult to find a more perfect honoree for TVNewsCheck’s 2013 Women in Technology Leadership Award than Wendy Aylsworth,” said NewsCheckMedia Publisher Kathy Haley. “Not only does she play a pivotal role in helping Warner Bros. navigate a sea of technological change, but she is also a leader in setting technical standards around the world.  We look forward to having the entire television industry help us celebrate Wendy’s leadership in 2013.”

TVNewsCheck’s Women in Technology Leadership Award recognizes women who have contributed significantly toward advancing their industry technologically. It supports the National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation’s Technology Apprenticeship Program, which places young engineers who are women or people of color in broadcast industry internships.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

In addition to honoring Aylsworth, TVNewsCheck will expand its Women in Technology Awards program in 2013 by recognizing three Technology Women to Watch. To be presented to women engineers who show potential for making significant contributions to the advancement of their industry, the Women to Watch Awards will recognize women in TV, radio and online technology.
