TVNewsCheck’s Women In Technology Awards To Support UN’s Ukraine Emergency Fund

This year’s awards presentation and webinar from the NAB Show in Las Vegas will help UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, which is on the ground in Ukraine, providing emergency shelter and lifesaving aid including food, shelter, medicine and clean water.

TVNewsCheck’s 12th annual Women in Technology Awards will support the United Nations High Commission for Refugees’ Ukraine Emergency Fund (LINK). The awards — presented in three categories: Leadership, Futurists and Technology Women to Watch — recognize women who have contributed significantly to advancing their industry technologically — or who show great promise of doing so.

Proceeds from the Women in Technology Awards typically support the National Association of Broadcasters Leadership Foundation’s Technology Apprentice Program, which provides training and internships to women or people of color.

This year, however, TVNewsCheck and the NABLF have decided to donate all proceeds to the UN’s work on the ground in Ukraine, providing emergency shelter and lifesaving aid including food, shelter, medicine and clean water to refugees.

“There is nothing more important right now than sending help to Ukrainians and the refugees from the brutal war of choice being waged against them,” said TVNewsCheck Co-Founder and Publisher Kathy Haley. “On advice from the European Broadcasting Union’s leadership, we will be directing our donation to the UNHCR.”

TVNewsCheck will present its 12th annual Women in Technology Awards during the NAB Show on Tuesday, April 26, at 6 p.m. in the Las Vegas Convention Center.

This year’s recipients:

In fact, this is a good step, I think that now it is important for the whole world to unite in order to finally stop such aggression. Now any help to Ukraine will be very much appreciated and it is simply needed.
